PPA4140 ECS First Professional Practice GDEd

Description:
The first professional practice provides the student teacher with an introduction to the junior primary context. Students also have an opportunity to start to make sense and appreciate the complex role of the teacher. Student teachers will also have opportunities to work with teachers and their classes, to learn and practice essential teaching skills and critically evaluate and reflect on their own experiences.

Student teachers will be responsible for small and whole group lessons and progress from teaching half days to full days. The emphasis of the practicum is on developing appropriate experiences for children in a junior primary context that suit the developmental needs of children aged between 5 - 8 years.
