The unit explores topical questions or issues of importance to students and managers in the fields of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.
Major questions surrounding the impact of new work regimes, human performance requirements, employment contracts and relationships, corporatisation and privatisation of public service agencies, and management fads and trends, are explored through seminars, student debates and presentations. Students learn in groups and individually through structured debates, presentations and an individual report or feature article focusing on one or (if requested) two nominated topics. The unit aims to promote in-depth knowledge, reflection and original thought relating to the selected topics. | |||
