The unit examines the historical, philosophical and political background of corrections. A study is made of correctional populations as well as the experience of imprisonment and the work of prison officers. The growth and effectiveness of community corrections is reviewed. Finally, contemporary issues and challenges facing corrections in Australia are examined. | |||
