TSM2700 Destination Development and Marketing

Description:

Tourism relies heavily on destination development and marketing to forge distinctive products that will help create competitive advantage over an array of other tourist destinations in order to attract potential tourists and maximise community benefits. The unit introduces students to destination management and marketing organisations, destination product development, creating reasons to visiting destinations, delivering visitor experiences and destination branding. Attention will be given also to the role of the media and IT in destination development, accessibility and infrastructure, and cooperative marketing and partnerships in destination development.
