Description:
This unit continues the themes of Foundations of Education 1 and 2 (Secondary). The characteristics of the secondary pupil are the emphasis in the unit. The study of adolescence, individual differences, ethnicity, social class and sex role socialisation form the major themes of the unit. The school in society is also studied. The teaching practice experience related to the unit encourages effective decision-making based on the theoretical perspectives gained.
