EDC4102 The Christian Teacher in Community
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:
The Christian teacher has a unique view of relationships within the school community. It is based upon a biblical worldview that is committed to demonstrating the character qualities of Jesus Christ to those with whom the teacher interacts. This course examines a biblical concept of self and community and their outworking in the community of which the school is a part. It explores patterns for the relationships and attitudes that the Christian teacher and the teaching team should cultivate toward students, parents, fellow teachers, administrators, the school’s governing authorities, and governmental authorities outside of the school. It also examines the various tasks of teachers in the school community, in relationship to the stakeholders mentioned above.
