AED3110 Visual Arts in Education

Description:
This unit provides an introduction to visual arts learning outcomes for kindergarten to year 7 (Art Ideas, Arts Skills and Processes, Arts Responses and Arts in Society). Through visual response and studio workshop activities students will develop an understanding that the visual arts offer unique ways of expressing, interpreting and communicating ideas and feelings. In the studio workshop sessions students will develop their observation skills and imagination using materials and processes. The unit will also provide opportunities for students to use computer graphics to support the visual inquiry process and as expressive media. Appropriate visual arts teaching methods will be examined and students will have the opportunity to teach visual art to small groups of ECS/Primary children.
