IMM5112 Human-Computer Interaction

Description:
This unit aims to introduce students to: the nature of the field of human-computer interaction (HCI); the cognitive and technical bases of human-computer interaction (HCI); the application of HCI principles to Interactive Multimedia interface design and to Hypermedia and World Wide Web environments; mental models and the human-computer interface for multimedia systems and products; key trends and issues found in the HCI literature, particularly as they relate to IMM; HCI principles and guidelines adopted by leading practitioners in the field. The unit includes a substantial project which may be research-oriented or product-oriented (or both).
