Description:

The focus of this unit is on building key employability skills for career development. Students will learn a multi-model approach to interpersonal business communications related to management of self and others in the workplace, in order to establish themselves as more effective managers and critically reflective practitioners. Students will begin to assume basic leadership roles, demonstrating higher order communication skills such as conflict management, negotiation and networking. Job preparation skills, including the use of appropriate career management tools to develop resumes, job applications and interviewing, are also a focus of this unit.
